There are two major rivers that converge in Grand Junction (hence the name): the Colorado and the Gunnison. Needless to say, this provides numerous recreational activities. Be aware of water levels and temperatures. The water is usually cool or cold but some people will actually tube down the rivers in late summer.
Flat Water Canoe/Kayak Trips: A trip down Ruby-Horsethief Canyon on the Colorado River by canoe, kayak, or raft is a bucket list experience.
