The chickens have been so much fun. They are growing so fast. Today the chicken tractor (coop) moved to the winery. We will give them a little time to get settled and them we will pull the tractor down the vineyard rows and the chickens can feast on insects and weeds … yum!

Barrel toppig is the process of refilling any wine that has evaporated. Barrels aren’t completely airtight, so after a while the evaporation creates an increased headspace, an air pcoket that needs to be filled to prevent oxidation.

It’s a little hard to believe that Spring has started. The grape vines and peach trees are still dormant.
Temperatures are ranging from the 20’s and 30’s at night to mostly 40’s during the day with the occational day in the 50’s. We are getting unusual amounts of rain and snow.
Consistently cold temperatures can help the trees and vines stay dormant until the threat of sping frost has passed.
